See, I was walking in Lido this afternoon when I passed this Indian restaurant which we normally call them 'mamak', I was passing at the rear part of the shop so I had the unfortunate chance to see what was going on back there. there were two children sitting in front of five huge basins filled with murky soapy water that contained dirty dishes. these kids are workers of the restaurant, their jobs, manual dish washers. which I find very sad.
these kids should be at home playing or studying, but because of 'this great life' they had to work in order to eat and survive.
enuff said! today I would indeed promised myself not to go to any restaurants that uses kids for cheap labor... car wash centers in Kota Kinabalu are some of the places where you can find these poor kids, some of them locals and some of them are migrant, but most of them are stateless...
friends, do your part to prevent child labor from continuing... I myself will also find out what can be done to tackle this issue. If not, I will have more sleepless nights. till then...
