Malaysian Contemporary Art : loyar berkasih

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim giving his autograph on my painting....
My friend/collector Miss June Rubis is curating and event for Loyar Burok...its called Loyar Berkasih, inconjuction with Valentine's day... (loyar berkasih means lawyers in love in Malay)

we're trying to auction off this here painting titled " love and coffee". I have created this art piece as a support for the Group "Borneo Youth Revolution", all the proceeds will be donated to BYR.

about the painting, its a story of a Malaysian couple who wanted to celebrate Valentine's day together, but because they didn't have money, all they can afford was watered down black coffee with the least amount of sugar. two drops fell, and one of the lovers quickly catches the drops, they couldn't even afford to waste any bit of the coffee, it's that precious for them.

But because of the changes that is and will be happening in Malaysia,
that cup of coffee will be the last cup that they have to endure, the cups that will come after this event will be sweet as the best brown sugar that could ever be served.

Malaysian Contemporary Art : new talent exhibition 2012

after a few months painting actively with The Cracko Art Group, I was approached by the curator of the state art gallery Puan Jenifer Linggi to exhibit my artworks in the Sabah State Gallery.

There, I was given a corner of my own, they hanged my paintings nicely, the staff in the gallery did a good job, they were friendly as well. Some of the big names came during the launching of the event: Jainal Amambing, Yee I Lann, Awang Fadillah, and many more... I felt "excepted" as an artist...hehe...happy tears..

it's been a while since i've updated this blog of mine...any ways i'll try to re-cap as many events as I could.
this weekend was awesome, me and The Cracko Art Group had a chance to show our art talent in this huge 3 day event called "Bonding with Gaya Street"... me and the fellas had been given a chance to paint sunshades with our own designs, so this here picture is what I have come up with, it says there "daripada kau tingu tivi, bagus kau pigi Gaya strit" which in english says, instead of watching the tube, it better if you go to Gaya Street... hope u enjoyed the street art here. come visit the facebook page and see... http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=297927010257276&set=pu.210003085716336&type=1&theater ... here some pic of me and my friends doing the sunshade project...
